			<description>&#60;p&#62;There’s one who pronounces ‘pronunciation’ as ‘pronoun-ciation,’ with no apparent sense of irony. I forget which one.

			<description>&#60;p&#62;Yep!!&#60;br /&#62;
Whenever the golf is on in these parts, they talk of 'Carrrnoustie' instead of 'Carnoostie' and 'St ANdrews' becomes 'SAINT Andrews'. There are many, many more, and predominantly place names, but this is not a problem with just the national BBC presenters, but also BBC Scotland presenters, who should know better.

			<description>&#60;p&#62;With the news that the Ford plant at Southampton is to close I like most of the population of the South will not so much be mourning the job losses but celebrating the end of the irritating BBC South pronunciation.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Every time they mention the factory we are told of the 'Ford traarn-SIT plant' instead of Tran-zit as it's pronounced by everyone else on the planet. This drives everyone up the wall. Anyone got other (particularly BBC) stupid pronunciations that irk them ?
