Bafta has blamed "human error" for a mistake that saw Alan Carr's Chatty Man left on a list circulated to members voting for its 2010 TV awards.

It said it had acted to inform the 7% of members who had already voted of the problem and would give them a chance to submit their vote again. Those members who had voted for Mr Carr would also be given the opportunity to vote again, once a trained mental health professional had given them the all clear.

Alan Carr's show is understood to feature a short man shrieking at the camera for half an hour in the presence of a minor celebrity. Early reviews were mixed, with Paul Ross giving it 5 stars and calling it "insightful and fun". The Times' reviewer, Andrew Shawcross, felt differently, describing the opening episode as "no funnier than a sudden head injury"
