Milliband has now apologised to "all the British grilled bread community" for inappropriate language. As he called Mr Mitchell toast under parliamentary privilege, he cannot be charged with offensive behaviour.</p> <p>A piece of toast from Towcester in Northants, formerly a member of a large wholemeal, said: "Toast is democratic, diverse, warming and friendly. It's easy to prepare and socially mobile. It's at home next to the Telegraph and the marmalade, <em>and</em> as part of a working man's fry-up," The toast continued: "Milliband has smeared toast with this gibe. Certainly, Mr Mitchell will have had "toast-experiences" at public school involving heartless bullying of less senior boys with "toasting forks", and certainly that was a formative experience for Mr Mitchell in his later career as Chief Shit. But he will never be as friendly, easy-going or capable of mopping up egg yolk as toast. </p> <p>Another piece of toast commented "Toast is not only the best thing since sliced bread.
