Through diverting heavy rainfall by means of a series of small dams, and channels draining into specially excavated holes, it is hoped that any future inundations will be reduced to a minimum.</p> <p>A spokesperson commented “We want to look after the Pennines, and let the ponds look after themselves.” </p>
