Bloody hell. Love the sub, disturbed by the follow-up. I'd give stars, but you just can't trust the bastards.

A couple of interesting pargraphs on Wikipedia I spotted whilst 'researching' this sub:

"On the same programme, Savile himself (unusually) took part in a Christmas 'fix-it' when he took a young boy to the Holy Land and Jerusalem to visit some of the places made famous by the biblical Christmas story. The boy explained later on the 2000 TV show I Love the '70s that he had never written to the show; but was selected from amongst the boys at his orphanage when the BBC requested a volunteer to accompany Savile on the trip."

"A young schoolboy asked Savile if he could dance with male semi-naked troupe The Chippendales. The wish was granted, with the young boy 'stripping' to his bare chest with the dancers, leading to a high number of complaints from viewers. Savile personally responded to the criticism in Radio Times, then the BBC's listings magazine, pointing out to the complainants that there was nothing untoward about the performance or in the intention of the child taking part and that anything construed inappropriate was in the minds of the adults watching."

The former chubby Cub-Scout who famously once appeared on Jim’ll Fix-It eating his lunch whilst riding on a rollercoaster has today claimed that he was forced to take part in the stunt against his wishes by Jimmy Savile.

‘It was horrific’ he complained. ‘I never liked rollercoasters, or lunch, and I wasn’t even in the Cubs. He just turned up one day and forced me and half a dozen other boys to do it, just so he’d have something for his show that Saturday night. I felt dirty afterwards, although that was probably because I was covered in crumbs, orangeade and puke.’

Other participants have since made similar claims. A lady who, as a girl, pretended to drop a priceless antique on Antiques Roadshow protested ‘Antiques!? I was ten years old for Christ sake! I was interested in Nik Kershaw, not bloody antiques.’

A boy who once appeared playing the drums with Adam and the Ants also accused Savile of humiliating him. ‘I never wrote the letter he read out – he wrote it himself. I knew his name wasn’t Jim’ll. I wasn’t a complete moron!’
