After discovering the disaterous state of the Downing Street wine cellar David Cameron has set off on his first state booze cruise.

More than a decade of Labour tenancy in number 10 had left the cellar filled with crates of bitter and real ales which the Conservative leader feels obliged to replace with a range of high quality Grand Cru. The PM pointed out that the only reason for joining the EU was to be able to bring over unlimited volumes of wine at reasonable prices. As an environmental gesture Mr Cameron will be cycling throughout the tour, though he will be followed by a heavily armoured motorised security detail and a transit van to carry all the booze and some cigars for George Osborne. To stress his commitment to the central position assumed as part of the coalition with the Lib Dems Cameron has agreed to take wines from both the right and the left side of valleys.
