The Queen is facing tighter broadcasting regulations after mistakenly saying a radio DJ had died during her weekly Buckingham Palace podcast.

Her Majesty, who broadcasts under the name of Lizzie Windsor, told listeners that Midlands-based presenter Danny Kelly had died, despite him being very much alive.

"I have some sad news to bring you. The popular DJ Danny Kelly has died." she told subscribers, followed moments later by the voice of her producer - Prince Edward - saying "You can't say that."

Her comments are beuing investigated by the broadcasting regulator OFCOM after an official complaint from Mr Kelly.

"The first thing you're taught as a broadcaster is that you have to be responsible at all times. You get your facts right, you never put anything out that is wrong or libellous or could be misconstrued by the audience." he said.

"In my view, that's exactly what she's done.

Neither Her Majesty of her producer were available for comment tonight.
