The weather has been absolutely superb, because who doesn’t want to get involved in whingeing about the non-stop rain?”</p> <p>It has been an exceptional summer for anyone wanting to take up the new sport, as there have been so many opportunities for all ages to get involved. These have included the Jubilee, particularly the BBC coverage of the event, Euro 2012 football, tennis (anything from the price of strawberries to the unfairness of who played on what court), Royal Mail price rises and the digital switchover. Private sponsorship included contributions from RBS and O2 on the technology front.</p> <p>Lord Coe was also quick to praise our Government’s contribution. “I mean, the formation of the coalition was an absolute masterstroke. That truly did take whingeing to a new level in the UK.” </p>
