Thanks nails I am a victim of Manchester Education Comittee with my grammar, punctuation and spelling. I now worried about too many commas and be thought of as you know who!

"bingo accident" - nice. I'm going to be a pedant and say that the punctuation needs tightening up to make it read in a more flowing way. Good idea though.

Bailiffs today were sent into the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by creditors as the near bankrupt trust has run up debts of £69 Million.

Amid scenes of chaos, prosthetic limbs were being seized by Bailiff officers, Mrs Ivy Fairfax 78, of Sidcup told reporters, “ I had just received a new plastic arm, as I had lost my old false one in a bingo accident and was just about to go through the sliding doors when a nice young man from Kneecap Debt Collectors told me that as I hadn’t left the building, the arm was Hospital property and his client wanted it back, I was gobsmacked , how am I supposed to knit now”. Another patient Ted Evans, 67, of Woolwich had his prosthetic leg taken whilst being measured up for replacement, “I was getting fitted for a new right leg as due to a financial shortfall in the trust last March, I had to have a temporary left one fitted, when this bloke came and took all the limbs including my old temporary one, I told the police what had happend but they said I hadn’t got a leg to stand on, so to speak”.

Aside from the repossession of prosthetic limbs, other items retrieved have included all lead from the X-ray department, copper from bracelets which were to be used in a complimentary medicine study by the orthopaedic department. One patient also had a life saving heart and lung operation cancelled when it was realised that the organs could a substancial amount if they were sold on the open market.

Meanwhile the fate of the hospital remains in doubt as it is believed there are plans to turn it into a luxury hotel in time for the Olympics should planning permission by granted to turn the hydrotherapy pool in to a Spa.

An investigation into financial irregularities has also revealed several questionable PFI loans applied for by the management including one for a villa in Marbella, listed on the loan application as a Vitamin D enhancement centre whilst another application was for a Melanoma Research facility in Malaga.

Giles Barnet, a spokesman for the trust told reporters, “Local people should not worry about the Hospital, they will still have a place to wait in out of the rain for hours on end in the vain hope of being treated by a South American doctor with limited English skills and on a positive note, I am 100% sure that all the trusts managers BUPA membership has been paid till April of next year”.
