When I noticed he’d left something behind I ran after him but by the time I’d caught up he was already in the lift and the door was closing. I held out the old tattered ideals but he just laughed and said he wouldn’t need them anymore”</p> <p>Since then Cameron has deflected most of the questions about the loss of his green credentials and absent big society rhetoric by patting down his pockets and saying "I'm sure i had them a minute ago" </p>
