Hope you didn't misunderstand what I was saying. I do like this very much and it did make me laugh a lot. I just felt it could do with a wee bit of trimming.

I was appalled by the BBC's presenters' servile grovelling during the Jubilee celebrations. There seemed to be no objectivity from any single one of them and you couldn't help think they were all either working to the strictest orders from 'upstairs' or else were fishing to enhance their own careers, either with awards or new programme opportunities.

Like this idea a lot and enjoyed it's style, but...

I do feel it's a bit too long in its current incarnation and is much too padded out in the middle paragraphs (4& 5) with all the programmes names where you've substituted Baker in the titles.

Still, stars though but bonny lad!

BBC executives have at last decided to give regional favourite and all round chipper chappy, Matt Baker, his own TV channel.

Since the former Blue Peter presenter has been on every BBC TV show since 2008, the BBC's Governing Body decided it was high time to set aside valuable funds from its frozen budget, to give the lovable do-it-all Geordie a channel all of his own.

BBC Director General Mark Thompson said the move made perfect sense. 'We know it's an expensive decision, but Matt's popularity with the viewing public has been such that we simply can't find enough time in the schedules of the 4 main BBC channels to fit in enough of the man Baker'.

The new channel will host such shows as 'The Hairy Bakers', Bakerwatch, Have I Got Baker for You and The 6 O'clock Baker along with Kids' shows like Bakermory, Tracey Baker and In the Baker Garden.

Evening schedules will highlight perrennial favourites such as Baker under the Hammer, Baker in the Attic, The Baker Forecast and the nation's favourite cookery show, MasterBaker.

There's even room for further schedule enhancements as the BBC iplayer will also be dedicating 90% of it's bandwidth to only showing programmes that include Matt Baker with it's 'BakerLite' service.

TV critics have applauded the move saying it's high time Matt Baker was given his own slot, somewhere away from the main schedules, where his many skills and talents could be properly appreciated by him and whoever the fuck it is that keeps giving him valuable airtime and the oxygen of publicity. Or just oxygen.

Alison Graham at the Radio Times commented 'Matt Baker has been the mainstay of almost all of the BBC's output in recent years. His ubiquitous presence has dominated the airwaves, with his air of unwarranted self assurance and domineering smuggery. It's almost as if Matt Baker has become the 3rd B in BBC. But to my mind, and the minds of many other BBC viewers, he will forever be synonymous with the first syllable in Countryfile'.
