Extend the concept ?

Special forces find Government popularity shackled in a basement cage next to leveson credibility, milliband charisma and lib-dem social conscience. Government popularity has some hope of recovery, but the others were far too malnourished and had to be humanely put-down on the spot

Surely with there still being 3years to go till an election, we're at least 2years off a jolly good jingoistic war.

I reckon its all an elaborate ruse about the aircraft carriers taking ten years to build and Cameron's got it all planned:
Autumn 2013, start to trickle out stories about all the oil being found in the South Atlantic, whip the argies into a self-righteous frenzy, organize a royal visit from Prince William to South Georgia so all the Falklanders pop over to watch, turning the lights off and forgetting to cancel the milk; Argentina pounce and invade, just as two aircraft carriers who happen to be exercising in the area disguised as fishing boats pop up, the paras remove their penguin suits, the gurkhas take off their sheepskin jackets and an almighty slap is administered to some Argentinian conscripts.

Should be good for a fifty seat majority.

Drone attack and Blair ideas are good.

Might find time to knock something up into a sub this evening. Only about a week late.

There has to be something in there about starting the assault with a drone attack (a whole list of ministers' names springs to mind). Would the twist be that the mission fails, or that it succeeds?

When one of our soldiers gets killed Cameron would probably remind everybody it was Blair who authorised the mission
Or worse still, in a desperate bid to become more popular
Blair reminds everybody it was he who authorised the the mission.

No. No, not really. I have enough trouble making my own crap funny without bailing out other rubbishy writers.

Lazy bastard.

But thanks for asking.

I’ve had an idea kicking around since the weekend but it looks like it’s going to be so far away from being topical by the time I actually find time to write it that it won’t be worth me bothering. Does anybody else feel like picking it up and turning it into a sub?

David Cameron approves Special Forces mission to rescue Government popularity

When the hostages in Afghanistan were rescued recently all the news reports seemed quite keen to mention that Cameron had personally authorised the mission, presumably to try to try to boost his popularity. I had the idea of the Coalition’s popularity having been missing since some time last year, when it was feared that it had been killed in multiple attacks on tuition fees and the NHS. When a Labour party led by Ed Miliband achieved success in local elections people feared the worst and gave up hope. But after a successful mission to rescue a hostage in Afghanistan there were indications that the government’s popularity may still be clinging to life. This gave people hope and Cameron immediately gave his personal authorisation to the same team to go in search of their popularity and bring it out alive etc etc etc.

Any takers?
