I didnt know, I was just quoting (without doing proper research, as we do)

@ Daneade.
Glad you survived the execution.
when I can drag myself away from studying all the worldwide atrocities, I will read some of your other stuff.

@ Arthur. Now That is funny.but make sure we get plenty of stock of Keyboards from "Chinks" before we blow them up. Nice to hear that David Cameron has been upgraded to a Cunt.
@ Sinnick. Possibly a bit too brave for a First post, I was going to say perhaps Daneade should have another go, possibly on a different subject. But then I read....
@ Yikes. "but I think Daneade's execution was spot on"
Well I would not have gone that far, it just makes us as bad as the rest of them.
Dark humour & criticism are two sides of the same coin.

I was a bit cagey being the first commentator but I really do think this was a fine piece that in no way makes fun of the Syrians. Almost impossible to write about this sort of thing but I think Daneade's execution was spot on.

That said, may well not make FP for sensitivity reasons but perhaps a leaflet drop from a plane in China might be a goer ...

@Rowly
We're all as upset as you at the images and the story, I suspect daneade is upset more than most, hence this, his 1st & brave post.

However, Syria is geographically a little closer & in the spotlight at the moment, so we actually manage to get some photos.

Several other countries really are vastly worse than this. Zimbabwe has forced 30% of its population into South Africa. China has a devasting effect on families & political opponents, as well as the stuff I reported above. N Korea - well, who knows, but I doubt it's all fun and frolics (that's meant to be an understatement). Iran - anyone who doesn't toe the party line is in trouble along with their friends & family. Iraq had possibly 1 million gassed by Saddam & his chums (most of whom are still at liberty). Central Africa. Burma is beginning to escape the Dark Ages at last. No-one wants to question Pakistan just yet, for obvious reasons.

So, please shed a tear for Syria, but don't forget the rest.

My own rant isn't remotely funny, but please tolerate those that try to raise awareness with a little dark humour, eh ?

you see, my plan would be to get some disaffected muslims to fly jet planes loaded with nuclear bombs to all the major chinese cities, and bomb the fuck out of them so we could then go in and spank the fucking syrian government.
a little ambitious you might think, but two birds with one stone, after all, every country in the world owes billions to the chinks, and if we can blame the camel jockeys for their destruction, it's a lay down misere!
we end up out of debt, and free oil for years to come!
if only i was david cameron.
then i would be a cunt.
but that is besides the point.
vote for me and welcome in the new, clear dawn!

Horribly luvvly.

I retrospect it shouldn't have surprised me to learn in visiting southern Africa over past few years that Chinese industries based there treated the workers like sh*t. But it did at the time.

Very good. 5*
I once heard an interview with a Chinese Communist Party apparatchik who explained that, as human rights are a social construct, determined by a particular culture in a particular time, it’s perfectly reasonable for different cultures to have different views on what constituted a right. That is, in other words, 'we’re going to do whatever we like and you cant or won’t stop us.'

Vicious, yet nice. Well done for tackling a tricky topic. 5*

I think China's very quietly going to be the world's top power in, say, ~15 years. By a long way. They don't seem to have much in the way of scruples. Human rights, ecology, dodgy deals in Africa that no-one else would touch, unexplained interest in Iran and protection for N Korea, absence of democracy, etc, etc.

China has told the international community to stop being such big girls’ blouses when it comes to a bit of massacre-ing.

Pressed for action against Syria after the Houla massacre China responded ‘Er, hullo? Tiananmen Square anyone?’

‘Let’s face it,’ said a spokesman, ‘sometimes slaughter makes a problem just disappear like magic! Those pussy-arse St Pauls church officials would have cleared those stinking hippies off their doorstep a lot quicker if they’d been slaughtering thy neighbour.’

‘How many pro-democracy protests have there been in Tiananmen since the last protesters were re-educated to death by tanks? That’s right.’

‘What did the world do about it? Mmm.’

‘Did we give a shit? No.’

‘Do we give a fuck about some Arabs doing a bit of throat-slicing? Again….’

Foreign Secretary William Hague said that while he appreciated China’s hard-nosed and honest ‘realpolitik’ he repeated Britain’s position on massacres as ‘not cricket’ except for those ‘done by us ages ago.’
