However, Syria is geographically a little closer & in the spotlight at the moment, so we actually manage to get some photos. Several other countries really are vastly worse than this. Zimbabwe has forced 30% of its population into South Africa. China has a devasting effect on families & political opponents, as well as the stuff I reported above. N Korea - well, who knows, but I doubt it's all fun and frolics (that's meant to be an understatement). Iran - anyone who doesn't toe the party line is in trouble along with their friends & family. Iraq had possibly 1 million gassed by Saddam & his chums (most of whom are still at liberty). Central Africa. Burma is beginning to escape the Dark Ages at last. No-one wants to question Pakistan just yet, for obvious reasons. So, please shed a tear for Syria, but don't forget the rest.
