Oooh I've been there too. Talk yourself out of one answer by commitee. Many years ago we had a regular but unsuccesful quiz team. We then recruited a very large chap who quietly got all the answers right while we got pissed. That year we banked over £1500 in winnings and went on a team piss up in Dublin. We were called the Sad Lads. As in "You sad bastards!".
Do you want to see the scribblings so far Al? PM me with an email address and its done.
BTW whwen I say "half a sitcom" I mean a synopsis and half of one episode.

That sounds like it has potential - E.g.

Quizmaster: "Who was Eleanor of Aquitaine's husband"?

Our Hero: "Henry the Second"

Team Twat (who always holds the pen): "Oh - in what sense"?

Our Hero: "In the sense that he was her husband, and that is, in fact the answer"

Team Twat: "I can see where you are coming from"

Our Hero: "Yes I am coming from the position of having told you the correct answer, so fucking well write it down".

Team Mouse (Twat's wife): "There's no need to be like that"

Our Hero "Like what - correct"?

Team Twat: "Yes, we can all have an opinion"

Our Hero: "Such as the wrong one - what's your answer then"

Team Mouse: "Well I don't have one, but that's not the point"

Our Hero: "No this way we'll end up with no bloody points"

And so on, and of course each week they lose by a single point. Sadly drawn from real life.

I have half a sitcom written which is based on a pub quiz team. A lot of it is semi-biographical. I think its too British and probably too personal but if anyone fancies a look and wants to expand it I'm open to offers.

How about a sit-com set in the warehouse of an on-line retailer? Must be a rich vein of comedy gold to be mined there.

Yes, they want both. In one interview an Amazon person said they were looking for the new Seinfeld. Personally I didn't find the old Seinfeld funny but I know what he means.

Amazon are about to start making comedies for download and are offering a very decent amount of cash for ideas. Sitcom writing Biscuits might want to give it a look.

Seems like a jolly scheme.
