CHELSEA boss Roberto Di Matteo has blasted UEFA for blocking his side's bid to park a bus in front of their goal ahead of tonight's Champions League clash with Barcelona at the Nou Camp.
Chelsea take a 1-0 lead to Spain, after a semi-final first leg which saw Barcelona record an unprecedented 107% possession.
Many believe an ultra-defensive strategy could be the West London side's best hope of reaching the final, but the absence of a large vehicle in the visitors' penalty area may prove a major stumbling block.
During a stormy press conference this morning, a furious Di Matteo said: “Two weeks ago, we made a written application to UEFA to place a standard London double-decker bus in our goalmouth.
“To be told, just hours before kick-off, that there is a height limit of 2.8metres, is simply unacceptable.
“It leaves us very little time to find an alternative vehicle.”
A Chelsea spokesman later confirmed that Kenny Dalglish had loaned the Blues the Vauxhall Combo van his Liverpool side used for their victory parade after February's Carling Cup win over Cardiff.
