Labour leader Ed Miliband has called the immediate disclosure of the marks out of 10 awarded by the guests of all dinner parties given by the Prime Minister since he moved in to 10 Downing Street.

‘It’s important that we not only know who has attended soirees there’ he explained, ‘but also what was cooked by whom, and what the guests thought of it. Any embarrassing attempts at entertainment should also be made public, as should any drunken mishaps or rows, preferably accompanied by a bitterly sarcastic commentary.’

David Cameron denied that this was necessary however, and sought to reassure the public that nothing untoward had been going on. ‘Our dinner parties are a private affair’ he maintained, ‘and none of your business. I can however confirm that everyone attending looking for perhaps a reduction in the 50p tax rate have given the evening 10 out of 10, due in no small part to Nick’s soufflés, which are always a triumph.’
