There ought to be a quota or a cap or something to limit the number of French people allowed to live in France. You know, enough to keep the food, the cheese and the wine flowing, but no more than that. It really ruins a holiday to have this Gallic-ness thrust in your face all the time.’</p> <p>Unlike Mr Sarkozy’s concerns about the integration of immigrants, foreigners agreed that the system for welcoming French people into the wider international community was working just fine with most choosing to return to France as soon as they realise that they may be expected to do a full day’s work every now and again, and will only get a one-hour lunchbreak. </p>
