I think you're right there ronseal

The two 4fun Juniors were in a ... err ... somewhat offbeat music/poetry/stuff triad.

As long as some were weeping with laughter they only thought they'd done a successful gig when a goodly proportion of the audience got up and left in disgust.

They were I recall particularly pleased when they managed to continue that fine tradition upon performing before invited friends and relatives at someone's 'Big Number' birthday party.

Makes an old man proud

There are three types of comedy criticism

Laughter
Silence.
Booooo!!

The worst one is silence.

Thanks Stan...that's what I was looking for...

I think "serious" comedy journalism with features, reviews, interviews etc might be able to support a physical mag in the way that NME, Rolling Stone, Q and MOJO still manage to continue, but yeah, establishing a new print media brand in a niche where people aren't in the habit of buying a mag is probably not the way the wind is blowing.

Would be out of date by the time it hit the streets. The internet is the place to do this stuff. And one day someone will come up with a topical satirical/comedy site - you mark my words.

Of course there is always Chortle which does a pretty good job.

I should have a proper clear out. No idea why I hang on to all that hate mail.

Anyway, it might work better if it wasn't just me.

"excellent."

That's my review most of the time.

So start one. as a blog.
check out writetodone.com and have a look at Mary Jaksch's articles or Leo Babauta's articles.
figure out what you want to read in the magazine, and give it a go. Good luck.
(Tried to PM you, but soemthing went wrong at my end, or your mailbox is full.)

Comedy has been "The New Rock'n'Roll" for nearly 20 years now. How come there isn't a weekly or monthly mag for reviews etc like the NME?

Or is there?

Anyway, I would like to work on this publication.
