I was heartened to see Jean Luc Picard coming out for Labour in a leaflet somebody shoved through the door yesterday.

If you were to extrapolate his vote across the entire crew of the Enterprise, you're probably looking at 200 or so votes in what is essentially a key marginal.

I reckon Chekov could be Lib Dem though. The big shithouse.

I'm sickened by celebs, but don't give a fig who they claim to support.

Anyone come out for the BNP yet? Seem to recall that tennis player Buster Mottram coming out for the NF years ago. Whatever happened to him?

Hello Sauce. I was out driving at the weekend and suddenly found myself in a forest dark. The trees pointed charcoal fingers at a lowering sky and the air turned chill. I had left spring behind and had entered, it seemed, eternal autumn. I didn't spot a lake, but I'd bet my bottom dollar that, had I done so, I'd have found that the sedge had wither'd from it and that no birds sang. A glance at a few tattered signs dotted around told me that I had entered the constituency of Gove. With your image in mind, I gathered my strength and gave the signs my hardest stare (think Paddington bear with added oomph). A small act of defiance I know, but even so, it required all my strength. I trust this was the right thing to do? Imagine my relief as I emerged once again in the sunny uplands of a neighbouring constituency and basked once more in the spring sunshine.

"Celeb endorsements cause voter outrage" - there's a good Mail headline for you, Ian.

I care about as much who they vote for as I care for one or two dim-witted aquantances' choices. Why they will vote that way might be a good source of amusement, though.

Why has this become a Cameron/Brown/Clegg beauty contest? What about the POLICIES?

I might spoil my paper in protest. But I'll probably vote to keep the Torries out, as they're so bloody dangerous (I cite Gove, yet again - his education ideas alone should mean, in any sane world, they stand no chance as a party), which means Lib Dem around here.

I've just realised I used the word 'sickened'. I'll be writing to the Daily Mail next! It's those bloody celebrities, driving me to it. It's a disgrace - send them back to where they came from...

And no, it's not Marie of Romania.

Not that I needed further reason to dislike them, but thanks to Gary Barlow, the chances of me voting Conservative or ever buying a Take That album are getting slimmer by the day.

And if Labour think that the implied threat of violence from their Celeb will help, they are sorely, erm, hang on....

Just because you're a successful singer/actor/presenter doesn't mean I want to know who you think I should vote for. Stick to the day job.

Even worse are the politicians who think our votes will be swayed by them.

To compensate me for my annoyance, I propose a trade-off. Every time a celeb does a politician's job by appearing in a party election broadcast a politician has to take their place as whatever they do eg. Peter Mandelson presents 'Mandelson on Gangs', Ken Clarke performs live as lead singer of Take That, and Charles Kennedy stars in 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of, well, anything'.

Who's with me?
