And why didn't we opt into the Eurozone? Because we didn't fancy having such close financial ties to the weaker EU economies.</p> <p>All we've done is left them to sort out their own mess. If they'd used the EU as a vehicle to prop up the Euro then all sorts of new EU financial regulations would be devised and implemented which may or may not affect the UK. What we've done is stopped them using the EU as that vehicle and they're basically forming their own 'save the Euro' club.
