The Trip could have gone on for ever. I though this was really funny. Nicely underplayed - some may say to the point of not being funny. But I thought it was great.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8BPP4ASQWo

But what do I know? I used to watch Frasier and Fr**nds.

I also liked 'coupling'. Watched several episodes of 'Frasier' last night, for first time in years; just sublime. Don't know if it went on too long, as I've never seen the final 3 series.

Agree about Life's Too Short.

Strange show it was more like a mash-up of The Office and Extras rather than a new thing. The only bit that made me laugh was Liam Neeson when he said where the greengrocer had been and why.

I always enjoyed "Coupling" - they dropped that far too early.

I shall long remember the scene between Welsh Geoff and the Israeli girl in the bar.

Priceless!

I like Miranda.

Steve Coogan is a bit odd. He's the high principled crusader against the gutter press. Who then jumped ship from Random House to Harper Collins, because they offered him more money. (like he needs it)

Who owns Harper Collins? Rupert Murdoch

Roseanne was funny? League of Gentlemen - so, so sad to see it degenerate. As for Outnumbered, I suppose funny kids don't always make funny teens etc.

Have I got News for You has gone off the boil

everything is so cosy.

I liked it when the panelists hated each other. Now everyone's deferential to
Paul Merton and Ian Hislop.

I hate to say this, but even Piers Morgan would liven things up. And he's a twat.

Or Brian Blessed.

They should get John Lydon on and goad him mercilessly until he throws a tantrum.

Time we let it go. Go.

There used to be a whole website devoted to discussing when certain shows "jumped the shark".

JumpTheShark.com it was.

Looks like it's disappeared now.

The only one I can think of the didn't tail off into mediocrity is Blackadder.
Granted, the third series wasn't quite as genius as the second and fourth, but there were still plenty chuckles to go round.
I think they were spot on to end it when they did, it didn't become stale, and even watching it now, it is still hilarious.

Unfortunately "outnumbered" is looking a little frayed at the edges - the format whereby the child actors get some leeway to keep the adult actors off-balance was bloody marvelous - but now they know one another too well!!!

"My Family" after the first episode.

Still like HIGNFY..but it needs to avoid dumbing down.
They don't need 'lad's mag' guests.
Keep it a bit upish, a bit hi-brow , it works better.
That bloke who used to write for Spitting Image...he was quite good.
Certainly doesn't need people swearing at their parents.
ALL American ones go on too long.
Last of the Summer Wine was starting to go a bit flat but I think they were a bit hasty taking it off just yet....a bit of a knee-jerk reaction I thought.
The Office and Thick of It....naaaaa

er...I like Not Going Out, is that a good thing?

Shit, is that the time ...I'm supposed to be putting stuff up on eBay not writing this bollocks.

The Thick of It was undoubtedly clever and well observed, but I found it...boring. Same went for the film. Never laughed once, and drifted off several times. It just seemed to be trying too hard.

Loving Fresh Meat at the minute. I was really sad that there was no third series of Spaced, but it probably ended at the right time, really.

Astonishingly, Never Mind The Buzzcocks seems to be back from the dead, this series is funny again.

Can we keep all the current comedy, and just drop all the soaps? And programmes about bloody dancing, or pretending to be 'edgy' manufactured pop turds?

Spent part of the weekend mainlining the The Thick Of It box set and we all agreed that series three while still good isn't of the same quality as the first two. Which got me thinking: what comedy shows that were great outstayed or are outstaying their welcome?

Roseanne would be my top choice. It stopped being funny several seasons before the axe fell. And currently I'd dispatch Have I Got News For You.

What say you Biscuits? Who should kindly leave the stage?
