why does Waitrose get so many mentions on NewsBiscuit, do they pay commission? I think we ought to be told -

It has been revealed that Lloyds TSB Chief Executive Anotonio Horta-Osorio, has decided to pull a 2 month sickie, starting with immediate affect. Lloyds' board of directors issued a press release saying Mr Horta-Osorio has taken a 'leave of absence following medical advice', however Jane from reception told us she saw him out and about yesterday

"He was in Waitrose getting some bits of shopping." she told us, all to keenly. "He didn't look that ill, well not until he got to the till. Their prices are extortionate even for a Banker."

We tried to speak to Lloyds TSB 's Human Resource department but they refused to give us an interview, however they did release a statement saying "We can confirm that Mr Horta-Osoria called in sick today, but due to a change in policy, we have not been able to verify his illness. As a bank, we no longer do checks"

His time off comes as the Eurozone keeps falling further towards financial turmoil. The crisis has led to the Disasters Emergency Committee setting up an appeal to raise money for Greece, but the Greek Prime Minister will only accept the money raised if everyone in the country is OK with that.

There has been much speculation over the reasons for the Mr Horta-Osoria wanting to skive off. Reasons go from the ridiculous suggestions that he may actually be ill, through to rumours he doesn't want to be there when things go tits up in Greece. The most likely suggestion however, is that he is taking the time off to look after his Obese feline.

"We can confirm that we have a client with an obese pet going through treatment but are unable to confirm the identity of the client" Mr Horta-Osoria's local vet told us. "It will take up to 2 months for us to deal with the greedy fat cat, only then we can start treating his pet."
