dvo - no way of telling for sure who has voted for what, but people generally leave a comment with a rating at the moment. So if a sub has got 5* and no comments there's a reasonable chance that the writer has awarded those stars. Especially if they appeared within 12 seconds of the sub being posted.

Everybody likes to get stars, and, in defence of anybody that does it, the text at the top of the writers' room does actually include the line "so if you would like to write for NewsBiscuit please post your article on this submission board and then attempt to give yourself maximum votes over and over again", so people are only following orders.

Giving everything you sub 5* does tend to wind some people up on here though, as I discovered quite early on. So I stopped doing it. Honest, I did...

How does that work then? Is there a way to identify who has voted for what? (You'll be telling me there's a way to identify browsing history next).

Handy tip; I obviously want to vote for myself, but not appear to.

Sound advice Al. Alternatively you could wait until somebody else gives you stars, then give yourself 5 afterwards. Not so obvious then either. And then any sub that sinks has no stars, so if anybody accuses you of giving yourself 5 you can point to the no star subs as evidence that you don't do that kind of thing.

Not that this is something I'd do you understand, just saying you could, if you were that way inclined.

If I were you, I'd wait for at least ten minutes before voting for yourself to make it look less obvious.

In a shock revelation, it appears that the majority of crime in 2010 was actually committed by undercover police officers.

"We were acting from the best of motives.", explained a police spokesman, "I'm sure that the public is reassured to know that criminals aren't behind most crimes."
