There was embarrassment at BBC TV headquarters today when the winner of a cooking show was failed to be announced before the programme ended.

BBC's Mark Thompson explained that "The judges like to keep people guessing who has won to the last second, and 15 minutes into the show the head judge announced the winning chef is.................. and then the drum roll started, but 15 minutes later the judge had failed to announce who had won and the programme ended and switched to the local weather forecast."

"We can't tolerate this type of behaviour at the BBC and I have decided to sack the producer, who's name is..........................."
