Islamic groups were in uproar last night after it was discovered that Roland Lamb, an 18 year old 'Nando's Chicken' employee, bore more than a passing resemblance to the Prophet Mohammad. The similarities in appearance where noted by Roland's university friends, who warned him that Islam strictly forbids any depiction or representation of the Prophet.

A spokesman for a hardline Islamist group denounced Rolands face as 'blasphemous' and called for a worldwide ban on all things Roland; including social networking sites, voice recordings and photographs. The spokesman also called for severe punishment for any one who hi-fived Roland during a recent works bowling tournament.

Mr Roland Lamb has since disappeared from the family home following the controversy. Nottinghamshire Police, desperate for information as to his whereabouts, issued a detailed description of Mr Lamb, only to withdraw the description shortly afterwards due to death threats.

Mr Lamb's family are desperate to contact him as he seemed to be very depressed before his disappearance and, according to his Father, was contemplating plastic surgery to look like Jesus in a bid to be more accepted. Roland's tragic story has not gone unnoticed by various companies eager to exploit his unique situation. Gillette have reportedly offered Roland a six figure sum to be the face of their new Halal razor campaign built around the slogan 'The best a deity can get'.
