My older cousins discovered them when they were students, and insisted that my 14yr old Duran Duran loving self listened to them. They also insisted that our grandparents listen to them, however I appreciated the content and humour of the lyrics more than my Glenn Millar loving rellies.

From HMHB, they ensured my progression to The Fall, and introduced me to the (by then quite old) soundtrack album to "The Great Rock And Roll Swindle", teaching me the words to "Friggin' In The Riggin'". Most of which I have now forgotten.

Any band who can pull off rhyming "Nantwich" with "amp switch" deserve global recognition.

No, it's safe Plucky. Just do what Quaz does, and wear a tin-foil hat. You'll be fine.

Back in the 1980's I played guitar in a 5 piece popular beat combo, and we supported Dumpy's Rusty Nuts at the Leys Youth Centre in Letchworth. That gig broke the all time attendance record at the Leys (412 paying punters) and still stands to this very day; the club having closed down shortly after the event.

We never supported Angela Rippon's Tits; although clearly, someone should have.

didnt know they were still going - remember seeing their gig ads in the back of the NME when I was at school. They always seem to appear next to Dumpys Rusty Nuts and a band called Angela Rippons Tits

...and I think we should adopt them as the "house" band.
