Have I missed something? Is there a reason there are no commas or quotation marks or anything in this, is it part of the joke?

Prime Minister David Cameron last night praised the placement of two giant plasma screens in the pool bar at his luxury hotel in Italy.

Mr Cameron who is on holiday in Tuscany said they offered him an outstanding view of the rioting in Tottenham Enfield Walthamstow and Brixton from a range of sun loungers.

The quality and depth of the coverage is top notch said the Prime Minister adding that he was pleased to see British news networks at the forefront of the reporting.

Mr Cameron and his wife kicked off their evening with an aperitivio at the quiet bar beside the Arno river safe in the knowledge that when they returned to their room he could watch rolling news footage of concrete slabs going through the window of Currys.

A spokesman for the Prime Minister said The Prime Minister was astounded to think that these communities were being rocked by violence and looting while he was sampling the delicious crisp taste of a fine Vernaccia di San Gimignano. Fortunately his suite comes fully equipped with SKY and BBC World he’s been following events on Twitter and they even get the English papers so once or as much as twice a day he had been glancing at events back in the UK and wondering what is the world coming to?

London Mayor Boris Johnsons villa has been in constant touch with Mr Camerons villa since violence flared up on Saturday night. Mr Johnsons pool boy confirmed that he had sent a text to the PM saying blimey its kicking off back in Blighty to which Mr Cameron immediately responded what channels it on?

The Deputy Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Steve Brookfield who is on holiday in Fuerteventura described the events as despicable acts by a gang of mindless thugs and went on to enquire what the weather was like back home as it was absolutely scorching there.

Mr Brookfield insisted that all senior police officers not currently on a two-week break would take to the streets but that it was likely the good gear had already been nicked.

The only senior government minister not on holiday is William Hague who said Typical I’m the Foreign Secretary and I’m the only one not sunning myself in the south of bloody France. However I have spoken to the PM and he has assured me that he is prepared to fly back to Britain at a moments notice the moment the rioting spreads to Notting Hill.
