As Britain met its CO2 emissions cutting targets last week, Gordon Brown announced that anyone with Climate Change in their job title is now surplus to requirements. Wheel clampers (AKA climate change car immobilising executives), bin snoopers (AKA recycling security officers) and serial killers (human footprint reduction officers) may all face redundancy, and have their license for obnoxiousness withdrawn.

Levi Bellfield, best known as the poster boy for wheel-clampers and security guards, spoke for the entire uppity community when he expressed his disappointment. 'It's all because of that blimming volcano,' said Bellfield.

The knock on effect of the volcanic eruption of ash was a blanket ban on flying, which produced a savage cut in Britain's CO2 emissions.
