I’m sure Ed will come up with some policies in the run up to the next election, and if they don’t get him in, his brother will have some new, slightly different ones to offer us for the subsequent five years. 5*, by the way.

A few more gems in the article. If Cameron Clegg and Ed are really the best the UK has to offer then we are really in the shitter.

Surely, Ed will just keep calling for Rebekah Brooks to resign.

Perhaps he could try to follow up the success with a similar campaign against David Cameron or at the very least Nick Clegg. Failing that he could do another series as Mr Maker for cbeebies.

Sources close to Ed Milliband have revealed that the Labour leader 'has no idea what to do next' now that Rebekah Brooks has finally bowed to pressure to resign as chief executive of News International.

Mr Milliband had recently been enjoying levels of popularity not even achieved within his own family, as a result of repeatedly saying something that most people agree with - that Mrs Brooks should stand down in the wake of the phone hacking scandal.

Now that this has actually happened he is said to be at a complete loss as to what to say next to maintain his new found popularity.

After initially shooting to fame when a video clip of a farcical interview went viral, thousands of people discovered via wikipedia that Ed is not a comedy character, and that his outlandish seeming claims to be leader of the opposition are actually true.

'Ed is enjoying the exposure he's had recently on the bbc from saying things that they wanted to hear' the source revealed 'people are starting to take notice of him, which is a new experience, and he likes it.'

Now he's determined to stay in the public eye and is believed to be considering a number of options. One is to call for the competition commission to put aside the rhetoric, get round the negotiating table, and block Rupert Murdoch's takeover of Sky.

The favourite so far though is to stubbornly stick to his guns and continue calling for the resignation of Rebekah Brooks, ignoring the fact that it has already happened.

Rumours that he might actually come up with some policies have been strongly denied.
