Plans have been announced to envigorate the Houses of Parliament, in a bid to bring the MP's and Lords closer to the public, and re-connect with the people.

The House of Commons is to have a Wimbledon style retractable roof installed, which will remain open during Prime Ministers question time, and will only be retracted if it rains, or there's a credible terror threat. The logic behind it comes from the MP's desire to re-connect with the electorate, it is hoped that by fitting a sound system, the public will be able to hear the parliamentary debates live as they visit Big Ben or Westminster.

The roof will be able to open and close in the time it takes for a boring question to be asked or a good arguement to begin, and will have special devices to trigger the opening or closing based on the loudness of snores or noise of "Here, here's."

In line with the installing of the retractable roof, the House of Commons will be re-named Centre House, and the House of Lords, House 1, so as to make clear which is the more important arena.

Centre House will also have new seating put in that comes down behind the MP's, much more like a tennis court, this will enable public involvement with the debates. This has raised a few concerns, as the worry is that chants such as "Come on Cleggy" could be the norm. The speaker of the house will also move to a higher seat, much like an Umpire, so as to enforce their aloof and impartial stance.

The changes are not just internal, as there will be large TV screens installed in the parks surrounding the Houses of Parliament beaming live pictures, so supporters can watch their elected representatives. Following the lead of Henman Hill, and Murray Mound, now it's Cameron Cleft and Clegg Carpet.
