"We'd really been looking forward to a challenge and this is all he's got for us? What a namby."</p> <p>"We can take whatever you dish out" and "Come and have a go Osborne" read the signs that they carried as they scoffed at the government's suggestion that these cuts would give the citizens of Britain a hard time.</p> <p>"Austerity? Call this austerity?" said 75 year old protestor Aubrey Oddell. "When I was a boy and times got tough during the war, the tax agents used to run into the playground and take our tuck shop money. And then they'd spend it on Churchill's cigars."</p> <p>"I'm a proud masochist, as is anyone who chooses to live in Britain" said protest leader Samantha Uggins. "And I've had it with these touchy feely governments looking after us and softening the blow. Come on Cameron, make us taste the pain!"</p> <p>"Look you don't live in Britain if you want an easy life do you?" said an unnamed Iranian immigrant. "I wanted an adventure holiday. Many of us are here because living on the African savannah was out of our means. I want to experience some rough living as does anyone who lives here. I was hoping they'd take away our right to buy food or something like that, something exciting." </p>
