Gordon Brown has pulled off a masterstroke by keeping his "political cards close to his chest",by refusing to let the public know exactly when the election date will be.

Adama boulton,Skynews's political editor, said that this "could yet prove to be Gordon Brown's election after his taking the unprecented step of not revealing what date the election will be,leaving the public to guess.

"It is thought that this has been done in an effort to protect the many marginals constituencies of his cabinet colleagues.Without the public knowing exactly when the election will be, it will be very hard to vote out the incumbent administration,"he said.
