<description>&#60;p&#62;Scientists on the Asian sub-continent are concerned that the illegal trafficking of the Mulligatawny has contributed to its near extinction. For some years regulation has been in place that only allows specimens to be collected for research purposes, not for commercial gain. In the remoter parts of its habitat, this law is frequently flouted as the Mulligatawny commands a high price on the black market. It is considered a delicacy in some parts of the world and is reputed to be an aphrodisiac. The Mulligatawny is distantly related to the Haggis.
