I mean, it’s dark and it’s raining but officially it’s Summertime, apparently. Then, on a nice Autumn day, it’s Winter. What’s that all about?’.</p> <p>Professor Cox is likely to face demands for him to step down from his positions with several of the world’s leading scientific bodies.</p> <p>The controversy echoes the row that shook the science world four years ago when Professor Stephen Hawking said that he is now convinced that the planet Mars is only three miles from Earth and is the size of a golf ball. </p>
