@rikkor Yes, that annoyed me too. I mean, of course it was going to be a fan page and she's not 'joining Facebook', but... Sometimes I think journalists wilfully misreport Facebook and Twitter stories to avoid their editors thinking 'hey, this guy understands Facebook pretty well... he must be slacking off'.

I thought you weren't allowed to befriend the queen unless she befriends you first. And of course, you have to wait till she logs out before you can.

Well, Her Majesty does have a lot of beheaded relations. Occupational hazard probably.

Apparently son of queen got glued to the screen to practice his farming skills in a popular game application. It now features a duchy branded farm and any anorganic farming practice has been eradicated.

At first I read 'beheaded friends' but now I realise the error of my ways. Silly me.

I just joined. False advertising. It's just a "monarchy" page, not specific to Liz Windsor.

Facebook has also agreed to provide Her Majesty with a bespoke version of their standard profile page, using phrases like "Is Amused" instead of "Like" and renaming the Friends List "One's Friends".

Just 24 hours after joining Facebook, Her Majesty the Queen has been forced to accept over 1,200 invitations to 'useless' applications. The invitations, from befriended heads of state, ask her to run a virtual farm, play Texas Hold 'Em poker and to calculate the funniest anagram of her name. Representatives say that refusing the invitations might be seen as a snub and damage British international relations.

It is estimated that the staff maintaining her Private Photo Album, reading 10 Ways To Seduce Any Girl and 21 Legendary Things To Do In The Pub, and installing her 301 'dislike' buttons have already cost the taxpayer at least £4 million.

It has also emerged that Britain has become embroiled in an online snowball war with real-world ally France. Meanwhile Michelle Obama faces stern criticism for welcoming the Queen with an electronic 'poke'.
