Didn't they subsequently introduce the new flexible "small country" unit of measurement which can be used to describe anything from an arse* to, well, a small country?

Scientists don't use Wales as a unit of measurement anymore, since we went metric it's a Belgium.

Construction of the new telescope was started under its acronym FOHT but had to be stopped after fellow scientists argued that using the name "Fuck-Off Huge Telescope" undermined their respectability.

Important cutting-edge work into solving the mysteries of the origin of the universe has ground to a halt.

It has been revealed that construction of a new telescope in Chile, larger than the current largest has had to be halted whilst astronomers search for a new superlative to name it after.

One astronomer explained: "We started looking for the superlative way back when we were using the Very Large Telescope. Of course now we're using the Extremely Large Telescope to look for the superlative but despite its expected size, it's very difficult to find. To be honest we'd settle for a nice big adjective right now."
