Amidst the ever increasing political correctness, of the United Kingdom, a pensioner by the name of Jean Taffy-Thomas, living in council run, sheltered accommodation, in Scatty Park, Swansea, has been told that must take down a photograph of the Queen and Prince Charles, which she had put up on the landing, outside her flat door.

Jean Taffy-Thomas, an ardent Royalist, sang Soprano, during the investiture of Prince Charles, when he was made Prince of Wales, by his mother, the Queen, at Caenarvon Castle, back in 1969.

The photograph was taken, to mark the event, and is of great sentimental value to her.

The Health and Safety executive of Swansea Council, have ruled that the photograph, put up by Jean Taffy-Thomas, is quote:

'Deemed to be a safety risk, because it would cause obstruction, or fall off the wall, in the event of a FIRE'.

Jean Taffy-Thomas who is 80 years old, remarked:

"It's just silly isn't it"?

She went on to add, that she felt that Prince Charles, who 'dislikes all of this 'health and safety rubbish', would probably be on her side, over this".

Jean Taffy-Thomas, claims that she put up the picture, to make the place look less like a jail, which says a lot for the design and decor ,of council run sheltered accommodation homes, for the elderly and infirm.

Other pensioners living in Scatty Park, in Swansea, have also fallen foul of the crazy 'elf and safety regulations', they were told to remove pot plants, a colourful rug, and four other pictures, including a famous black and white portrait, of the late Princess Diana.

A fellow resident of the Scatty Park home, by the name of Mr Michael Welsh-Purge, who is 82, was heard to remark:

"I think its bloody stupid.....this is going too far, and you can't ban the Prince"!

Mr Ed Potty, from Swansea Council, has said that their rulings, are nothing personal, against the Royal Family, but regulations relating to health and safety issues, must be upheld, and the ruling will have to stand.

The angry pensioners, headed by Jean Taffy-Thomas, have staged a protest this afternoon, with the help of professional protestors, Peter Caravan-Ambler and Dorothy Atkins-Sky, outside the council offices in Swansea.

The protestors struck matches, in the faces of health and safety officers, as they walked in and out of the council offices, in Blaze Street, Swansea.

One health and safety officer, by the name of Harry Rule, had his bowler hat set on fire, by a pensioner called Hatty Bryant-May, who is thought to be related to MP, Theresa Bryant-May, who apparently supplied the matches.

Whilst another protesting pensioner, by the name of Margaret Matcher, struck a match at close range, in the face of another health and safety officer, by the name of Eric Elfin, his ginger moustache was set ablaze, and this left him somewhat singed, and in need of hospital treatment.

Mischievous Peter Caravan-Ambler, came from behind a caravan, he had brought to the protest, to serve as a mobile canteen for the pensioners, struck a match at Health and Safety officer, Betty Blazer, and set her plastic raincoat on fire, melting it and causing it to stick to her tweed coat underneath, Dorothy Atkins-Sky, distracted Betty Blazer, so that Peter Caravan-Ambler could sneak up behind her, in order to do this.

Police were called to break up the protest, by which time; several members of the health and safety executive, had been set alight and had to be taken to hospital, leaving no-one working in the Health and Safety department, which of course presents a risk in itself.

The incident has resulted in all members of the Health and Safety Executive, being subjected to disciplinary action, for skiving off work, to attend hospital, for what were deemed to be nothing more than minor injuries, which the first aid post, within the council offices, could have dealt with.

The protesting pensioners dubbed "Hells Fire Grannies" have not been charged with affray, because they were deemed too frail, but they were also too dangerous to rile up again, by the authorities.

Prince Charles and the Queen, who heard about the incident, after leaving the magistrates courts in London, where they had each been prosecuted, for stealing fireguards and matches from Tesco's, to heat the palace, following their having being refused a poverty grant for heating; have ordered Swansea Council, to remove all pictures of them, from council office walls, in case they too, are a health and safety risk.

More news later, watch this space, minus matches.
