This is not a euphemism.

Pope not taking apology seriously claim abuse victims
The RC Church, already under fire over its' handling of the child abuse scandal in Ireland has been hit with further complaints from victims criticising the Pope for not taking the apology seriously enough.
Abuse victims in Donegal say they feel let down by the Pope with some even suggesting it was inappropriate for him to wear a giant acorn on his head while singing the chorus to 'Agado' throughout the televised apology.
The Vatican has been urged to apologise for the Pope's apology but insist the move was 'an attempt to lighten the mood ahead of these trying times'
A senior Vatican cardinal stepped in to explain ' The Pope often tries to mix in a little comedy with his goodwill messages and we thought this might go down well with the children. As you know, it has always been our policy in the RC church to embrace and pleasure the kiddies whenever possible.
You should see him doing his Charlie Chaplin routine with the funny little moustache, the pointy arm and that funny high kicking walk....at least I think it's Charlie Chaplin.
A delegation from the Vatican attended a hastily arranged press conference to assure abuse victims that Catholic priests would never again be allowed to target children in the future.
