'I am so honoured to be doing this,' said the celebrated TV psychic, 'I have spoken to Michael and he is right behind me.' The deal, worth an estimated $200 million, will see Acorah record 10 albums from Jackson's back catalogue before embarking on a world tour, provisionally entitled 'Is This It?'.

The 60-year-old spiritualist, who recently made contact with Jackson in a live TV séance, is already hard at work channeling Jackson's trademark falsetto voice, moonwalk and crotch grab. 'I am also working with Michael on a new album,' revealed Acorah, 'I cannot say much about it at this stage but we have received a lot of creative input on this project from Elvis, Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain.'

Acorah will also be working on an updated version of the 1980s classic video, 'Thriller'. 'It will be even better than the original,' said Acorah, 'because this time we will be using real ghosts and werewolves.'

Sony confirmed that, following a multi million-dollar deal with the Jackson estate, they have also secured the rights to use the re-animated corpse of Michael. 'The animatronics are absolutely amazing,' said 'close friend' of Jackson, Uri Geller, 'in some ways the re-animated corpse is an improvement on the original since not only can it sing and dance but it can also be left safely in the company of children.'

More than 31 million Michael Jackson albums have been sold since the death of the singer last year. 'The response has been amazing,' said a Sony representative, 'in fact we are currently considering killing off a number of other acts in an attempt to boost sales.' The company refused to say which acts they would cull but insiders expect Bruce Springsteen, Christina Aguilera and boy band JLS to all expect a visit from the Sony doctor any day soon.

Derek Acorah releases his first Jackson song next month entitled, ‘Billie Jean…Is there anybody here called Billie Jean?’
