Building on his theme of detesting too many foreign people in France Nicolas Sarkozy has turned his attention to products. If re-elected he has promised to legislate that the 'iPhone' will be called 'le jeTelephone'.

It has still to be decided how to refer to someone else's 'jeTelephone'. It is currently proposed that 'your iPhone' if it is someone you know well it will be 'ton tuTelephone' and for a less intimate acquaintance it will be 'votre vousTelephone'.

Sources close to the French premier suggest he has agreed a deal with Simon Cowell's SYCO production company to judge 'Britain's Got Parliament' a new Westminster based reality extravaganza. Sarkozy has long been linked to the series in which European viewers can vote to keep their favourite parliamentarian in Westminster. Despite the parties reservations about Europe it is believed that the Conservatives will fair reasonably well with a ground swell of right wing support throughout the voting region.

It's rumoured that Angela Merkel has been approached to judge and it's believed that Louis Walsh will be permitted to complete the panel if the Republic of Ireland agree to a debt reduction plan less achievable than the Versailles Treaty.

The show has been the talk of Brussels today with wild speculation that a sizeable chunk of the phone vote profits will be handed over to the IMF.

In a attempt to pacify the French outcry over his recent quips about Sarkozy, today George Osborne has issued a statement to clarify his love of all things French. Speaking at the Anglo-French Peace Talks in Geneva Mr. Osborne said “I think in one respect Mr. Sarkozy is a great European leader of similar stature to Napoleon …”.

Reactions from the Élysée Palace have so far not been encouraging.
