Leading Pizza chains are to fight back to counter the publicity gained by “Saltier than the Atlantic” chain Adam & Eve. A pizza from this restaurant chain has been described as “saltier than the Atlantic” by public health officials.
Pizza Hut are to introduce a new “Dead Sea” range in which the solid ingredients are not really mixed with the sauce but somewhat weirdly float suspended in it or on it. Trials have shown that customers are fascinated by the new topping and are often to be seen trying to float all sorts of items on their pizzas.
Rival Pizza Express are trying out the “Club Med” range in which there are mysterious, hard to describe, often brown, bits of solid matter among the onions, peppers and normal toppings. They have an “Identify what you just ate” competition running in parallel with the trial in which customers submit a form naming the mystery ingredients.
Supermarket chains are also entering the nautically themed fray with Tesco's eco range “Less fish than the North Sea” and ASDA's “Thinner and Hotter than the Straits of Hormuz”.
