I've been in and out of there for the past day or so. It's worth a visit, but no torching please, we need our little "time out" place.

Spray as many rude words as you like, just make the illustrations interesting though.

Just finished. I'm off to bed. Abstaining from the demon drink while working, but have some little bottles of Guinness Export (7.5% ABV) to tuck away come Friday.

Thought I might go over to the old place tomorrow night - anyone want to come. We could torch it or spray rude words on the walls, or both.

When sestina poets get themselves in a muddle, I imagine they say 'I'm all at sixes and sixes'. Have you an example of sestina extended metaphor failure you can share, sauce?

Can we hijack this thread for other revolting pedantries?

I'm critiquing poetry at the moment and some poets just cannot keep their extended metaphors up for a full sestina.

Mr Thompson, I do believe that if a tag has already been entered, subsequent tags will auto-modify themselves to match the original version. So, 'finger's of fish' will turn itself into 'Fingers of Fish' if the original was entered with leading capitalisation and no apostrophe. This makes sense to avoid duplication.

Now here's a clue which ought to be carefully weighed: I have been attempting to tag these various apostrophe threads with the form of "writer" complained of (solitary, plural, possessive plural) but the tag bag (at the top RH) swallows apostrophes.

I was hoping to produce an interesting set of zoom-words in that blue box, at the top of the Forum, but have so far been unsuccessful.

The inconsistencies go deeper than the mere positioning of the apostrophe. They may even be institutionalised. On a railway station, do we see the Waiters' Room? No. Is it the Wait Room? No. Suppose it is a restaurant, not a railway station: do those awaiting a table wait in the Waiters' Room? No. The sign on the door clearly says 'staff only'.

Chatterers' Room? Chatting Room? But these are virtual rooms and 'chat' is done in writing. So, Writing Room won't do. Write Room?

The situation worsens. The links have separated into three distinct factions: Writers' Room (the official wing, located in NewsBiscuit Home; Writer's Room (the enthusiastic but careless wing) situated in Forum; and Writers Room (the what who me wing) situated in Chat. We go back now to our reporter in the Forum: Rikkor, how does it look from where you're standing? Do you think there's an outside chance the aid workers might be able to move that apostrophe just one more space to the right before the end of the month?
