It is reported that Mr and Mrs Richards had seen the television campaign for the dating site E-Harmony. The adverts claim that a scientific approach using 29 dimensions is adopted to determine compatibility between potential couples.

“It was Tracy who first suggested it.” remembers Mr Richards, a plasterer from Essex “It was a Saturday night and we were watching Take Me Out when the adverts came on. She thought it would be a laugh for us to both sign up to the dating site to see if we would be identified as a match based on true compatibility”.

Mr Richards went on to explain that his wife said she knew that they would be be matched as they are a perfect couple. Mr Richards said he only agreed to the suggestion as he was desperate for a distraction from “that twat Paddy McGuiness”.

The couple logged onto the site that evening and completed the online questionnaire.

Relations became strained after two weeks had passed and E-Harmony still hadn’t identified them as a match. Mr Richards recalls that Tracy started to seriously question their relationship. “She would even fly off the handle if I didn’t laugh at the same moments of Miranda as she did. She said it meant we weren’t on the same wave length”.

The relationship apparently deteriorated from there on, with Mr Richards walking on eggshells trying to second guess what his wife might be thinking so he could prove that they were compatible. “It was impossible,” he remembers sadly “in the end she left me. She said science is science”.

Friends say it is a shame Tracy ended the 15-year marriage and that she has since been on several dates with her “perfect matches” but none have ever called again.

Tracey refused to comment.

@ DiY,
that's not the worst of it, I also have to endure 'sickly dumb prancing' as well. I must really love her.
Delighted to see this made a 'ticker' - one of my first efforts, too.
@IABP, can't afford two tellies. Lend me some cash, will yer, Guv?

Two TVs is man's greatest invention.
Whoever invented the single TV had a great idea but he never took it forward.
The guy (men are great inventors)who had a dream of two TVs and made it reality saved mankind.

@Skylarking (or anyone else, for that matter) help yourself, mate. My wife insists on watching Copulation Street and Emmeroid-Dale, so I'm exposed to relentless misery on a daily basis. But that's enough about her.

A 38 year old from Coventry has claimed his wife's obsession with a televison show has led to the breakdown in their 13 year marriage.

Andy Grissom from Stoke says the E4 programme Glee has become the number one interest in his wife Michelle's life and she's now paying no attention to him or their 2 children.

"It's atrocious" he told reporters. "She sits at home all day watching the show on the TV, either live or on Sky Digital, then spends hours discussing the latest 'funny quote' from Sue Sylvester with her new friends on the internet."

"And while she's doing that, I'm holding down a job as a bus driver and looking after our two boys."

His solicitor Andrea Durden says his assertion that a television show has led to the the breakdown of her client's relationship is unusual, but she's confident of a win in the case.

"Everything in the marital home has been paid for by my client and we think that as Mrs Grissom has contributed nothing but 2 extra mouths to the relationship, it's only fair that my client wins the majority of their shared property, including the 48" plasma TV and Sky box."

Mrs Grissom was unavailable to comment tonight, but told friends on a Glee message forum that she feels worse 'than Sue did after the Throwdown episode'.
