Disagree. The Sun is openly cuntish, the Daily Mail attempt to hide behind some code of decency. That makes them much worse.

In a shock move The Daily Mail have advertised for a Necrophilia-in-Residence to join their editorial team.

The main role of the Necrophiliac-in-Residence will be to scour the Facebook pages of recently deceased females in the hope of finding a bikini shot from a beach holiday. The pictures will be then be used to illustrate stories of the young girl's death.

John Nevis, Commissioning Editor for Death, Grade 4 Celebrities and Dog Pictures at the Daily Mail said:

"This is a very exciting time for the Daily Mail. We're keeping ahead of the opposition by making bold decisions.

"In the olden days when a pretty girl died we used to have doorstep her parents or ask family friends or distant relatives if they had a picture we could use. This meant that we always ended up with the same school picture. You know the one: blue background, toothy grin, that sort of thing.

"Now thanks to social media we can often get pictures that are both bang up to date and contain some decent norks.

"Our Necrophiliac-in-Residence will spend time tracking these pictures down. Normally we only use pictures to illustrate pictures of dead girls we've written stories about but if our necrophiliac finds a picture of a pretty dead girl that we've not written a story about then we could end up covering her untimely demise in the paper. And if he finds a really pretty girl who's alive then there's no reason we couldn't bump her off like we did Diana."

The news follows the recent appointment of the Daily Mail's first Masturbation Editor. The Masturbation Editor's job is to make sure that no picture that is not masturbatable to is put online.

Story about a Somerset rugby team arriving at a flashy-looking venue for a game. The captain approaches the blazered man on the door, explains who they are and then says, "Where's the changing rooms to?"
"Did no-one teach you not to end a sentence with a preposition?" came the posh bloke's reply.
"Sorry, I'll re-phrase it," says the captain. "Where's the changing rooms to, tosser?"

Infinitives - anorak note:

The infinitive form of a verb, such as "swim", is "to swim".

It is argued by some that this phrase, which is just one particular form of the verb, is effectively all one word and should not be split, any more than one would write "sw [insert some extra words here] imming", and that when you split an infinitive the isolated word "to" has no grammatical legitimacy on its own.

There is also a view that to split an infinitive in thie way also leads to rather clumsy English.

However there is not a "rule" about this; it is much more a matter of preference, good style and preferred usage. Those who claim that there is a rigid rule about it and that spliting an infinitive is always definitely "wrong" are actually betraying their own ignorance - challenge them to find an authoritative source for their assertion! As they say, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

Perhaps a good guideline is to avoid it and only to split an infinitive when the alternative would sound even more clumsy or if there is some other good reason for doing so.

The classic example, as quoted above, is "to boldly go". Would "To go boldly" or "boldly to go" have the same ring to them? Of course not. Good English is frequently a matter of good style.

(As a further arrogant anorak suggestion: when chooing a word, think about what the word actually means - look it up if neccessary - and consider possible alternatives. "Disintersted" does not mean "un-interested"; "discrete" is a different word from "discreet" and has a quite different meaning; likewise "infer" and "imply" have different meanings and usages. "Fantastic" is ludicrously overworked and of course literally just means "like a fantasy" - in other words, the thing being described does not really exist at all!)

Popular myth. There is no "rule" about not using a preposition to end a sentence with. Nor is there a "rule" about not starting with a conjunction or even to regularly split infinitives. Such things are regarded by many as poor style, bad practice and best avoided where possible, but there is actually no formal "rule" about it.

This is in contrast to clear rules such as those requiring a sentence to start with a capital letter, to contain a verb and to use a full stop to end with. Or simple plural's not to ever contain apostrophe's.

People on social media were bereft with grief today as a musician they didn't know but who was lauded by people they do know died in his or her sleep.

People on Twitter who have a blue tick and present the good radio shows led social media in mourning.

Danielle Gray, 32, marketing officer said, "As soon as I saw that both Huey Morgan and Bob Harris had tweeted an RIP about the same person I had to go on to YouTube and find videos of that person and then do an RIP of my own and post a link to the YouTube video on my timeline.

"I could tell it struck a chord because at least seven people retweeted me. And I was genuinely sad because I think had I known about the dead person before they were dead I would probably have liked their music."

Since the person died earlier today bittorent downloads of their music has rocketed by over 700%.

Yuri Irsenovich Kim is to be nominated for a posthumous Oscar and Life time achievement award at the forth coming 84th Academy Award Ceremony in February. Kim, who famously undertook the role of tyrant Kim Jong-il in the much troubled state of North Korea for 20 years, was found dead in his sea-front fortified compound last night.

Controversial reports have been circulating as to the innocence of Kim’s demise, but unfortunately the source of these claims had mysteriously checked out their hotel leaving everything in it including: wallet, phone, passport, car keys and car. Studio directors at the DPRK refused to corroborate these reports and rubbished them stating, under the watchful eye of suspected successor (stage-name) Kim Jong-un, “[These are] mindless attempts to destroy the reputation of the finest and most charismatically well styled gentleman ever to have lived since David Hasselhoff decided to Jump in [his] car.”

News of his nomination was received jubilantly within the Hollywood community. In an interview with actor Tam Cruise, Kim was heralded as an extremist. “Always pushing himself to the very edge, carrying his audiences to the absolute brink, be it kicking and screaming, or in the dead of night by armed men in balaclavas.”

Kim's most famous role caused much controversy amongst the western world, with his detailed depiction of the leftwing tyrant Kim Jong-il. Kim’s other credits include Supreme Leader in the 2009 box-office smash North Korea, the eponymous hero in Dear Leader as well as Inn Keeper in The Nativity Play which premiered at Primary School No. 4 in 1955.

Kim, or Yuri to his friends, who famously lead a very private life, refused to comment for Vanity Fare when news of a potential nomination started circulating back in 1991. But in an interview with NK News, Kim alluded to the huge strain the role was putting on him controversially ousting the costume department for lack imagination. “Everyone likes playing the villain from time to time, but it hasn’t helped my sex appeal like it did with Colin Farrell. I do find it hard to get to know girls, they don’t seem to believe that it’s just a role, I’m great fun really.”

The Academy decision to nominate Kim for the award posthumously has been received with an ecstatic reception. John Crook, actor and barman on Sunset Boulevard said “What a fantastic portrayal of right wing absurdist behaviour, we were all convinced he was a complete c***, I guess that’s what great acting is.”

Lambeth Palace has issued a strongly worded complaint to the BBC following the impact of Who Do You Think You Are on All Souls Day.

"The Archbishop of Canterbury is a bit put out by the number of Dearly Departed being added to the lists for All Souls by overkeen genealogists." the statement reads. "We don't mind a few relatives, and perhaps the odd friend or two, but going back more than one generation is really not on, unless you happen to be from the Royal Family."

"These names all have to be read out on All Souls' Day, and some vicars are spending hours trawling through them all. Something really needs to be done to curb the spread of gratuitous genealogical research in our country before it is too late, and we end up with one massive great big family tree, with 60 million names on it."

"We used to have perhaps a hundred names to read out each year" commented Rev'd Steve Hardwicke, Rector of St Hedwig the Less, Doncaster. "This year our organist alone has turned up with 2,563 names, and says that if she manages to find a link through the Exeter archive, next year she hopes to be back to Domesday. I made the mistake on Sunday of saying in the sermon that I don't mind how many names there are, because I will read them all, but our Mother's Union then presented me with a list of 83,678 names between them."

The BBC declined to comment.
