I don't think this is a good area to explore frivolously. If you're going to satirise a gun massacre, gun culture or the media's attitude to the incident are areas that could work. Just saying 'a phone is more annoying than being shot dead' is targeting the wrong subject.

Many were looking forward to watching the latest installment of Christopher Nolan's Batman, but in a cinema in Portsmouth film lovers had there experience tragically ruin when an inconsiderate cinema goer left their phone on. When med school drop out John Micheal left his phone on, what was a typical trip to the cinema for many turned into tragedy, as the Micheal's ring tone reach the ear drums of 71 men, women and children. 12 say there cinema going experience was completely ruined. Many say this is the worst thing to happen during a screening of the Dark Knight Rises.

Talking of "People I'd like to have dinner with": 'Back in the day' I was at a musician friend's place in Islington and spent a nice afternoon chatting with my friend and a chap he knew through a recent tour, just shooting the breeze. When the Friend's friend had left, my mate said "Oh, he's left me a couple of records he's just made, fancy a listen?". I had a look and blow me if the bloke didn't turn out to have been the man behind one of my favourite (obscure now) techno acts of the time. If I'd have known who he was I'd have spent the afternoon pumping him for tips and asking about the album he made (I was into making music then and wrting for a local mag). On reflection it was nice that I didn't know and he didn't let on, so we had a great natter without any pressure on either side, and I have a happy memory of someone whose work I liked. I later heard that the chap was tickled that I was so chuffed when I found out who he was.

It seems almost churlish to not include "National Treasure" Stephen Fry in that list of dream dinner party company.

But I think we need some balance, so can I request Johnny Depp, Paul Walker and Keanu Reeves?
I don't particularly want to talk to them, apart from maybe Johnny, but I'd need something to look at.

Was he the Cash for Questions MP? Lord, it's all coming round again.

In other news, I think Dara O'Braiaiaiain may also be a personification of the perfect dinner guest. Very funny, likes a drink, and has a degree in advanced mathematical brilliance with physics and an MPhil in scepticism. Perfect.

I still chuckle to myself at BB's musical skit about how continental police sirens are more musical. I saw him as one of the rubber bishops at Glasto years ago, fantastic. Keep catching "Black Books" reruns on TV of late, shame that one petered out. He's a bit multi faceted really.
