Ooh matron! One of Britain's most enduringly popular madcap cinematic comedies is back, bigger than ever. Cinemas across the country are turning away people in their thousands as the clamour to see 'Carry on Coalition' grows louder every day.

In 'Carry on Coalition', we follow the antics of hapless Prime Minister David Blatheron (played by Kenneth Williams) as the country collapses around his ears. He was only elected a year ago, but poor old David can barely keep his colleagues from falling out with each other - or keep their wandering hands off his sultry wife Sam (Valerie Leon). Corr!

Diminutive Chancellor George Plodsbourne (Charles Hawtrey) is not much help. He looks like he only left school last year, and it was only Harrow anyway, while Foreign Secretary William Vague (Peter Butterworth) can barely remember who he's meant to be rooming with. And as for lovable rough diamond Justice Secretary Ken Spark (Sid James), he's only gone and got himself into hot water by saying there are different kinds of slap and tickle with dolly birds. Honestly, what a steaming great twit.

What's worse, poor David has to work with people from his reluctant allies the Literal Demon Cats. Cherubic leader Nick Begg (Jim Dale) seems happy enough to bend over and take the flak, but gloomy Business Secretary Vince Grable (Bernard Bresslaw) never stops moaning about the economy and now Chris Loon (Terry Scott) has got in a right pickle about who he's had in his car. Even lovelorn Ann Widdledum (Hattie Jaques) is getting in on the act by dancing in mid-air. Perhaps Home Secretary Theresa May-Not (Joan Sims) needs to take a firm hand with them all?

As scheming opposition leader Ed Millipede (Kenneth Connor) sharpens his weapons in the Commons, Blatheron has a few schemes up his sleeve to wrong-foot him. Perhaps, he wonders, he could invite over smooth Latin lover Silvio (Leslie Phillips) or organise a surprise visit by handsome young US president Barry Obladioblada (a guest appearance by Charlie Williams) to cheer up the ladies.

But will they be upstaged by a mad Camping preacher (Frankie Howerd) proclaiming the end of the world? Or will the country be so upest about national sweetheart Cheryl (Barbara Windsor) making a boob on a TV show that they won't even notice?? Myairrss, it's laughs all the way from here to bankruptcy with 'Carry on Coalition'

Cinema cashiers have seen nothing like it in years, as the great British public flock to enjoy the latest madcap adventure from the most celebrated team in comedy film history. Even though its run has barely started, Carry on Campaigning seems set to smash all box office records.

It’s election year and Carry on Campaigning follows the adventures of hapless prime minister Gordon Browncow (played by Peter Butterworth) and his devious sidekick Lord Peter Mandyman (Kenneth Williams) as they try to revive the party’s failing fortunes with a barnstorming tour around the country.

The trouble is that bumbling Chancellor of the Exchequer Darling Alistair (Bernard Bresslaw) seems to have lost all control of his ledger, while, despite the stern strictures of Jack Strawberry (Charles Hawtrey), a gang of double-dealing bankers have stolen into Downing Street and caught the whole cabinet with their trousers down.

Talk about double entry accounting! No matter how often Mandyman says “Oooh Darling!”, things just go from bad to worse. Meanwhile, smooth opposition leader David Blabberon (Kenneth Connor) and his gang of posh shysters are try to steal their jobs some saucy new policy intiatives.

But Blabberon has problems too. The ghost of the dreaded Lady Ratcher (Barbara Windsor) continues to haunt the party and dopey deputy George Plodsborne (Terry Scott) bumbles from one policy disaster to another, while lovable Cockney rogue Ken Spark (Sid James) threatens to upset the applecart with his earthy pro-European opinions. And cheeky Liberal leader Nick Pegg (Jim Dale) hopes for some proportional representation of his own!

With no-one seeming to like any of them very much, the leaders pin their hopes on a contest between the bevy of busty beauties they married. Will sultry Samantha Blabberon (Valerie Leon) stir up the nation into a blue mood? Or will the down to earth charms of Sarah Brown (Joan Sims) make us all see red? It’s laughs all the way to polling day with Carry on Campaigning.
