Gordon Brown was left fuming today after a series of prank phone calls made by the other party leaders. Instead of hammering out a coalition deal the Tory and Lib Dem leaders decided to unwind with a series of spoof calls to the beleaguered Prime Minister.

The PM complained to his secretary that the switchboard wasn’t working after a series of calls asking for Mr P Ness, Betty Swollocks and Mike Hunt. The final straw came when a caller asked if all his electrical appliances were running and then a sniggering Cameron told him he’d better run after them.

Security chiefs confirmed there was a traffic jam at the gates of Downing Street earlier after several taxis and Domino Pizza deliveries unexpectedly turned up together.

A senior civil servant said
The two party leaders are fine separately but together tend to get into a lot of mischief. We will be speaking to both their parents later. Heaven help us if they form a coalition.
