David Cameron has now declared Mornington Crescent after cunning use of the Argyle Street Parabola. As the run of play was with the poke, Cameron was able to take advantage of two extra nudges putting Brown firmly in huff and making bus lanes wild. This allowed Clegg to back double as a result of the northern approach. As Waterloo mainline was irreversible, Cameron took the advantage with working escalators at Elephant and castle counting treble and under stovold's second convention the result was inevitable.

Oh, bugger. I accept the 3 extra penalty floplits on this occasion. Just another 5 and I get to be David C's fag for 6 months, unless he is in opposition and then it is 8. Thinks. Must be very careful.

Neither the Crewe Station Formula nor Fairport Convention can possibly apply. During an election Lord Grosvener's original metropolitan rules are of course hinged and you are restricted to Zones 1 and 2 with scenic routes getting preference and national monuments scoring double. Just to clarify, mainline stations remain wild, looped moves are dissallowed unless rule 7 is reinstated and huffing is allowed only by the incumbent.

I think you'll find that Sir Patrick Spens' "Mornington Crescent: A Treatise on Tactics, Strategy and Logistics" which pre-dates David Lloyd-George's opus by some three years, supports what Mr Duff has just postulated.

Ostee,"The Fairport Convention" you say cannot apply here. Ah, but you're forgetting the Fairport Convention Matty Groves variation. I think if you consult the rules then that's clearly valid here and can be invoked under these circumstances.

I told you last time that with a 3-way split the Fairport Convention cannot apply until after the second failed attempt. Anybody would think we are playing Monopoly or snap.

I do, but the politico's can't in this instance because of the risk of Her Majesty intervening and Windsor rules then applying:

Windsor rules:
Only the senior player in a straight line may inherit possession, unless of course the Hapsburg Convention has been invoked, in which case, Grimaldi’s Protocol takes precedence.

and as you know, the Grimaldi Protocol during a general election would be unconstitutional and I doubt anyway that there would be enough ice cream to go around.

and declares Mornington Crescent.

*Defined by David Lloyd-George at the May Fair Synod of 1922. Better known as his New May Fair Rules. These pre-date, and must not be confused with his Further May Fair Rules of later that year. If in doubt, remember the handy aide-mémoire often recited by seasoned players: Lloyd-George New May Fair - The Further New Lloyd-George. Remember, Prince of Wales Drive can only be approached from the South, and 3 Shepherds in a row earns a bonus point.
